Just as Ohioans are passionate about their local products and businesses, CODE has a special interest in collaborating with Ohio composers and Ohio performing artists. In that vein, CODE’s “MADE IN OHIO” show at Wild Goose Creative this Saturday will focus on local creativity by featuring the music of living composers who are either from or currently working in the Buckeye State. This show will present the second performance of Charlie Wilmoth’s Fanfare which was premiered by CODE in May and was commissioned by the Johnstone Fund for New Music. It will also feature works by composers Thomas Wells, Jonathan Sokol, and Anthony Vine, with world premieres by CODE composers/musicians, Johnny Mendoza and Michael Rene Torres.
The event is FREE but donations are welcomed to defray production costs and to help pay the performing artists. Parking is available in a parking lot behind Wild Goose Creative or street parking on Summit Street. Wild Goose Creative is a nonprofit community arts organization that provides space, education and resources to any artist in central Ohio (2491 Summit Street, Columbus, Ohio 43202).
